7. Try to make the payment with a credit card or PayPal:
Under federal law, the shopper can dispute the charges if he or she doesn’t receive the item or have any unauthorized charges on their credit card. Also, you can file chargeback with your credit card company or in case of PayPal, you can dispute the payment but make sure that the seller is a verified user. PayPal in collaboration with eBay offers Buyer Protection to their buyers.
8. Whenever you make any purchase, make sure you take a print out of the confirmation page or save the confirmation email that you have received.
9. Always check your credit card statement online rather than waiting for credit card statement’s hard copy. In case of any discrepancies or if you feel something fishy then immediately block your card or raise a dispute with your credit card company. Always keep/save the phone number of your credit card company in your mobile. So, in case of emergency, you can call them and ask them to block your card.
10. Know your rights: Usually, as per federal law, any item purchased through online shopping must be delivered within 30 days else the buyer can cancel the transaction and can ask for a refund. You can also cancel a purchase if the item is defective or not as described.
